Pastel Your Pet
Pastel Your Pet is a beginner-friendly, all-levels class in which students create an expressive portrait of a beloved pet (or favorite animal) using soft pastels on paper. Centered on capturing personality, color, and texture, the class introduces foundational pastel techniques, layering, blending, color matching, and fur/detail work from a photo reference. We will experiment with a variety of different pastel materials.
To make the class approachable and allow students to focus on color and pastel technique, there will be an optional tracing method for transferring the basic drawing. Instruction is taught through a step-by-step, hands-on, and encouraging approach with live demonstration and individual guidance, making the process creative, fun, and accessible for both first-time artists and more experienced students.
